Full Mouth Rehabilitation
Full Mouth Rehabilitation (FMR) defines what 21st Century Dentistry has to offer. It is evidence of the progress dentistry has made over the last century.
Full-mouth reconstruction used to mean a long protracted, disjointed series of procedures with a difficult-to-see endpoint that possibly could include extracting all the teeth and making dentures.
Now because of improved dental hygiene, people are keeping their teeth longer, but they become worn down and discolored. Plus there may be a collection of mismatched dental work from years past. The bite probably has become misaligned causing TMJ/facial pain and neck tension, and the teeth no longer support the facial structure causing a tired, aged appearance.
Not only can FMR correct all these problems, but you can pre-select the color, shape, size and arrangement of your soon-to-be perfect teeth and smile.
Temporary crowns are worn for 4-6 weeks while the laboratory custom-creates the all-porcelain crowns that are seated and permanently bonded to the prepared teeth.
The time required to complete a Full Mouth Rehabilitaion can range from as little as 2 to 3 visits to six or more depending on the complexity of the case and the desired result.
The wonder of the procedure is that the patient can experience a version of the final result during the temporary phase. Patient feedback with Dr. Foutz is enhanced providing valuable, precise input before the finishing touches are made to the final restorations.
And, as Dr. Foutz and his staff have witnessed first hand, it’s not uncommon for a person’s entire personality to change once they have the radiant smile they’ve always wanted.
